Coaching can help clients learn to better manage symptoms of ADHD and disorganization, minimizing their negative impact on daily functioning. Clients typically meet with a coach for about 8 to 12 sessions but can be ongoing depending on the nature of the client's difficulties. Coaching overview

Coaching can help clients manage symptoms of ADHD and disorganization, minimizing their negative impact on daily functioning. Coaching is a collaborative process in which the coach and client work together to identify the client’s goals and develop the skills necessary for the client to achieve those goals to their full potential.

The primary goal of coaching is to improve the underlying neuropsychological functions that help people think. It is a collaborative, supportive, goal-oriented process that helps individuals develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals and full potential. The primary purpose of coaching is education. A  coach/clinician teaches practical approaches to enhance structure and optimize functioning in daily life. The coach will provide encouragement, recommendations, feedback, and other techniques (e.g. reminders, questions, calendar monitoring, continued goals definition, etc.) over the course of the program.

Is ADHD Coaching right for you?

Coaching can help improve attention and concentration, stop chronic disorganization and lateness, help you complete tasks in a timely manner, improve study and test taking skills, improve your quality of sleep, increase motivation by learning to break down tasks, and improve decision making.

What to expect

In these programs, your initial meetings will evaluate the difficulties you’re experiencing and your goals. By the end of the session, your coach will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work will entail and a guide for what likely will follow if you decide to continue with the program. After a second evaluation session, you’ll receive a tentative plan and agenda which you and your coach will discuss and agree upon before starting our work together.

Clients typically meet with a coach for about 8 to 12 sessions, but the program is flexible and can be ongoing depending on the nature of the client’s difficulties. Each coaching session is 45 minutes long and occurs weekly or every-other week.
